Glossary

This is the starting glossary. It should grow as we migrate existing documentation and review the product with area owners.

Term	Meaning
Company Space	A tenant or client workspace in Knowspread.
User	A global user identity. One person can belong to multiple company spaces.
UserInCompanySpace	A user’s membership in a specific company space. Holds role, state, and client metadata.
Role	Membership permission and product role. Current values: student, admin, owner, participant.
State	Membership lifecycle state. Current values: invited, pending, active, revoked.
UserGroup	A group of users inside a company space. Used for organization and bulk content assignment.
Group leader	A member with a leadership relation to a group. Modeled separately from ordinary membership.
Content	E-learning content, a course, or another supported content type.
ContentVersion	A concrete version of content. Content can have drafts and active versions.
active_version_number	The version number currently accepted as active in a company space.
ContentInCompanySpace	Content available in a specific company space, including ownership, active version, and licenses.
ownership_type	Distinguishes original content (original) from purchased content (bought).
ContentLicense	A consumed license for the pair of user-in-space and content-in-space.
AssignedContent	The intent that content should be assigned to a user or group.
ParticipationSource	A link explaining why a concrete study record exists.
ContentParticipation	A concrete study record for a user and content/version.
ContentAssigner	Reconciliation engine that turns assignment intent into effective study state.
Learning Event	An in-person, online, or blended learning event connected to content.
Webhook	Outgoing HTTP notification from Knowspread to a client system.
